Nvidia made the transition quietly
What just happened? Adding more weight to the statement that Nvidia is more of an AI company than a gaming firm these days, Team Green has contemporized its GeForce RTX branding. Now, the badge includes a tagline that reads, “Powering Advanced AI,” spotlighting the technology that has turned Nvidia into the world’s third most useful company.
While Nvidia overlooks the advanced AI hardware market, the expansion of the new tagline – first spotted by TechPowerUp – refers mostly to some of the gaming-focused AI parts the company offers.
Deep understanding super sampling, or DLSS, is the most prominent one. The AI-powered upscaling tech has started to become a standard need for some games. Last year’s Remnant 2 was designed with upscaling in mind, and it’s pretty much required in Star Wars Outlaws if you want high frame rates.
Frame generation is an AI-powered technology that can enhance gaming experiences. ChatRTX is another AI technology that uses retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), TensorRT-LLM, and RTX acceleration to create a personalized large language model (GPT).
Next year will see the debut of Nvidia’s ACE in the online mech battle play game Mecha Break. The technology is said to authorize players to interact with NPCs using plain oration, having a two-way discussion as if they were talking to an actual somebody. Nvidia says ACE can “see” you and identify objects around you through your webcam using GPT-4o language ideals.

Nvidia has not made any official information about changing the RTX branding. That could be due to most of the public’s response to anything connected to the tech. In August, a study found that including the term “AI” in a product’s description puts consumers off buying it. There was also a recent poll that showed most people would not pay extra money for hardware with AI abilities and features.
Some of Nvidia’s OEM members have already updated the branding on their applicable products to show the new tagline. Hope to start noticing it on laptops and desktops featuring Nvidia hardware, as well as graphics cards, moving forward.
